Technical Briefs

Increasingly im+m is asked for reference data. We are now publishing compilations or analyzes as im+m, Technical Briefs. These are intended as documents-primarily data and charts and graphs-in a form that can be used for presentation. Although the data may support one view or another, these are not intended as opinion pieces.

These are all published under the Creative Commons Attribution only license.

im+m has available the data sets, the spreadsheets, and the charts and graphs in their original form for those who need these files. These can be found in the SOURCE folder under the publisher and the date of the document. Similarly im+m has tried to include any referenced documents in the eLibrary since documents frequently disappear from the original Web source.

Published Technical briefs include:

“Faculty Selection and Use of Publisher-Provided Textbooks and Supplementary Materials in the United States,” 15 December 2006.

“The Use of Virtual Learning Environment Software in UK Universities 2001-2005,” 16 June 2006.

There is current work on standards and use of audio and video podcasts, sustainability of open source software, and more on faculty use of publisher-provided online services.
